I took a photography course last semester and for one of the assignments I was given a prompt: 9 to 5. First thought that came to my head was the working hour. Ideas flowed through my head such as capturing people as they are going to work. As I was walking around Yorkville area, I remember there were bridges over the subway lines that go under the city (I took that train for 5 straight years in middle school and high school). I figure if I could capture a long exposure of the subway, it could symbolize the movement of people going to work. As I was taking those long exposures, it was hard to recognize where the trains were going. I then slowed down the shutter speed from seconds to one third of a second to show a little motion blur caused by the trains.
This picture is not a composite of many pictures, it was actually taken at the perfect time where 2 trains met below me.
